Author: Gordon Korman
What was the problem in the book, and how was it solved? Be specific.
The main character Chase gets amnesia which is a condition in which you lose your memory.
He remembers nothing about his former life in which he was not a very kind person. He became
a kinder person because he made better friends and made better decisions.
What was the author's purpose or purposes in writing the book? Explain how you know.
To entertain the readers. I know this because this is a fictional book written by a comedy writer.
What did the title have to do with the book?
The title has to do with the book because it is called restart and in the book when the main character
Chase gets a restart on life after he falls of his room and gets amnesia.
Tell in your own words how the setting of the story made it more interesting. Be specific.
The setting makes this story more interesting because it provides a good background for the story
and its characters.
If one of the characters visited our classroom, what question would you ask them? (Make sure the
question relates to the plot/problem/actions of the story.) *Give the name of the character with the question!!*
I would ask Chase which life he prefers . His life before or after his indecent.
Pretend you are a librarian recommending the book to someone. Write a paragraph telling what you
would say.
I recommend this book because it is a very well written story about becoming a better person and
finding yourself. This book contains many different tones and is very diverse and it is a mix of many
different feelings. It is over all a very good book.
If they made a movie of this book, which scene would be most important to include. Explain the
scene with details and why it's important.
The scene that would be most important to include is when Chase falls off his roof because
without this scene the story would be completely different.
This seems like a really good book.
