What was the problem in the book, and how was it solved? Be specific.

Hutch’s dad was an alcoholic and rarely came to his baseball games and he never talked about

baseball after it broke his heart when he got cut in the Minor Leagues.  The problem was solved in

the last finals game of the year his dad called a play to him from the stands. Hutch followed the play

to win the game.

What did the title have to do with the book?

The Big Field had to do with the kids wanting to play on the Big Fields.

Tell in your own words how the setting of the story made it more interesting. Be specific.

The setting made it interesting by showing a lot of details in the games and how they traveled

to other stadiums.

I would ask Hutch how hard it is to play baseball against big hitters.

Pretend you are a librarian recommending the book to someone. Write a paragraph telling what you

would say.  Book starts out with the main character Hutch.  He is a really good baseball player

for his age.  His dad was a really good baseball player until he got cut in the minor leagues.

Hutch´s dad helped Hutch to get a game winning run. Since I like sports I liked this book.

If they made a movie of this book, which scene would be most important to include. Explain the

scene with details and why it's important.

The most important scene would be when Hutch’s dad tells him a play  to win the game because it

was literally the first time his dad talked about baseball to give him a game winning hit.
