Jack Beyer's Book Report on "Heavy Hitters"

Name: Jack Beyer 7M

Title of Book: Game Changers (Heavy Hitters)

Author: Mike Lupica

What was the problem in the book, and how was it solved? Be specific.
The problem is that after the first game the team falls apart and starts making bad plays and losing
games they should have won.  After the first game when Sam got hit by a pitch for the first time and
is now afraid of the ball, and Justin gets the last out and costed them the game.  After that bad game
all the players have been playing mind games and not paying attention to the game so they can never
win. The solution of the story is when the whole team realized they have to work together and enjoy
the time they have on the field, and have fun and just keep their problems off the field.  Sam’s
problem of being afraid of the ball was fixes when Justin got ejected and realized he messed up so he
helped Sam with hitting.

What was the author's purpose or purposes in writing the book? Explain how you know.
The author´s purpose  is to entertain I know this because it is a fiction book that entertains the
reader with sports and comedy
What did the title have to do with the book?
The title interferes with the book because the title is Game changers (Heavy Hitters).  This
interferes because the team started out with so much confidence but after the first game where
everything went down hill the team started to fall apart so the part “game changers” is how the
season started out good and one bad game changed their whole season.  The “(heavy hitters)”
part is that the whole team had good contact and always made good hits, until after the first
game. The author also made a book called Game changers (Play Makers).
Tell in your own words how the setting of the story made it more interesting. Be specific.
The setting did not make it any more interesting because it was just throughout many
different baseball fields.
If one of the characters visited our classroom, what question would you ask them? (Make sure
the question relates to the plot/problem/actions of the story.) *Give the name of the character
with the question!!*Sam; Why do you think it was so hard to recover when you got hit in the
first game?

Pretend you are a librarian recommending the book to someone. Write a paragraph telling
what you would say. If i was a librarian i would say this is a great sports book with lots of really
cool events that always make me want to keep reading so if you are like me and love sports
i highly recommend you read it.

If they made a movie of this book, which scene would be most important to include.
Explain the scene with details and why it's important.  The scene i think would be the
most important to include is the first game because that is what started all of the problem
and solutions in the book.  It was basically the main event in the book.
