What was the problem in the book, and how was it solved? Be specific. The problem was my main

character has SCID known as “bubble baby disease” this is a disease where a person cannot go

outside or anywhere except their own home. Their immune system is incredibly weak. Maddy could

get a bone marrow transplant but does not.

What was the author's purpose or purposes in writing the book? Explain how you know. In my

opinion the purpose in the book is to live life you only get one.

What did the title have to do with the book? Maddy wants to do everything. Including having a

normal life.

Tell in your own words how the setting of the story made it more interesting. Be specific. The setting

is two places. Maddy´s house and the beach. Maddy CANNOT leave her house. She is to stay in her

house until she gets better which cannot happen until she gets a bone marrow transplant which

doesn't happen. The beach is where Olly takes her.

Pretend you are a librarian recommending the book to someone. Write a paragraph telling what you

would say. This book is an amazing book. You have your two main characters Olly and Maddy.

Maddy has SCID a disease that affects her immune system. Olly and Maddy meet, but Maddy´s mom

does not approve this is simply because she does not want Maddy getting attached to Olly when she

cannot do ¾ of the things he can.

If they made a movie of this book, which scene would be most important to include. Explain the

scene with details and why it's important. Actually they did make a movie based on the book ,and in

all the most important scene was Maddy meeting Olly because if Maddy never met Olly she would

have never gotten her nurse fired, ran away from home with Olly, went outside or went swimming in

the ocean and risked her life.
