Name: Ashlyn Tate
Title of Book: “Pretty Little Liars”
Author: Sara Shepard
What was the problem in the book, and how was it solved? Be specific.
The problem of the book is that a girl goes missing one night, and after 1 year all of her friends meet
up still trying to figure out what happened. When the girls all went to her funeral after that they got
a text from a person named “A”. That person kept texting them until they figured it out and there
was multiply “A’’ after one was figured out another one was there. They solved it by doing what this
person told them to do and having their friends help them figure it out. They also figured out that
the girl that went missing was alive. In the end they all figured out what happened from 9th grade
and past college they all where happy and it was the end of “A”
What was the author's purpose or purposes in writing the book? Explain how you know.
The author's purpose of writing this book was to get people on edge and it to be a book that keeps
you on your toes for everyone. It also was to be a high top mystery that kept you to read more. In
the book it was like you were there and you were watching it. Also in the book it had spooks that you
can feel.
What did the title have to do with the book?
The title “Pretty Little Liars” has to do with this book because the whole title tells what you can kinda
guess what it is about. When it has “Pretty” you think girls and when you her “Little Liars” you
think people lying. The title tells us what the book is about and how drama and mystery this book is
going to be.
Tell in your own words how the setting of the story made it more interesting. Be specific.
The settings of this story mad interesting because when a creepy or good part of the book would fit in
with the place they were at also its like when the girls were getting chased it was in a creepy house
you could just picture it and feel what was going on. This made the story more interesting because it
made the book better and it made you think. All of this made the story interesting.
If one of the characters visited our classroom, what question would you ask them? (Make sure the
question relates to the plot/problem/actions of the story.) *Give the name of the character with the
question!!*
One question I would ask is, Alison as you were hiding and you knew about “A” and everything else
and it was either your life, your family's life, your town, or your friends. Why did you decide to come
back too tell your friends that your okay and risking everything even your life?
Pretend you are a librarian recommending the book to someone. Write a paragraph telling what you
would say.
If you like mystery, problem, and a book that keeps you on your toes this is the book for you. “Pretty
Little Liars” is always an unexpected book it is exciting in the beginning and it gets more good as you
read. If you don't like to read this book would make you want to read it has so much realistic parts of
the book and you can just feel the pain or the excitement from the people in the book. This book is
a really good book it is a book that makes you want to read more and it makes you jump a little even
though it is a book it makes you feel like one of the characters.
If they made a movie of this book, which scene would be most important to include. Explain the
scene with details and why it's important.
Well this book is a show but I think the most important sense you would need is when she goes
missing because it is how it all started. Also because it shows how “A” is apart of this book.
