What was the problem in the book, and how was it solved? Be specific.
The problem in “The Hunger Games” is that there is an event held every year where Katniss
Everdeen lives when 24 people have to partake in a fight to the death. Katniss’s little sister
was picked to fight but Katniss was terrified of the idea of not being with her sister, so Katniss
takes her part to fight.
What was the author's purpose or purposes in writing the book? Explain how you know.
The author's purpose in this story was to entertain. I know this because this is a fictional
story because nothing like what is read is modern, but instead futuristic.
What did the title have to do with the book?
The Hunger Games is the name of the event that takes place every year.
Tell in your own words how the setting of the story made it more interesting. Be specific.
The setting of the story made it more interesting because the setting of the majority of the book
was in a sphere that simulated a forest, the battle arena. This makes the story more interesting
because many years before, people have gone to that exact sphere to battle, but always with a
different setting every time.
If one of the characters visited our classroom, what question would you ask them? (Make sure the
question relates to the plot/problem/actions of the story.) *Give the name of the character with the
question!!* If I was to ask Katniss Everdeen a question, it would be, “How did you feel when you
won the battle.”
Pretend you are a librarian recommending the book to someone. Write a paragraph telling what you
would say. If I was a librarian recommending someone this book I would say, “If you are looking
for an action filled, suspenseful book, The Hunger Games would be for you. There are many
cliffhangers and intense parts of the book that you will be on the edge of your seat the entire time.”
If they made a movie of this book, which scene would be most important to include. Explain the
scene with details and why it's important. There is already a movie of the book, but the most
important part would be when Katniss volunteers for her sister. This will tell people how Katniss
got to be in the fight.
I thought you did a good job with your report. You could have added a little more information about the battle and more information about how Katniss won. That is basically what you need to work on, but you did a good job.

ReplyDeleteI think your book report was great. I think if you add more detail when recommending to other readers, you could have mentioned more about the characters and why they were involved. Overall your book report was well thought out and you did a good job as well.

ReplyDeleteOverall this book report was amazing! The book report contained so much information about the book and caught my interest. Also if i has to ask Katniss Everdeen a question I would ask the same one you did. I think that I might go to the library and pick this book up!
