Name: Maddy Wittman
Title of Book: Vote
Author: Gary Paulsen
What was the problem in the book, and how was it solved? Be specific. The problem in this story
is that Kevin which is the main character is running for president for his Worlds most, Beautiful,
Most perfect, Best-Smelling Girl Tina.
Kevin is nervous about losing Tina to Cash a boy is the best looking. The problem is solved with
Kevin dropping out of the running and spending more time with the beautiful Tina, no matter what
she still likes him and always will she said at the end.
What was the author's purpose or purposes in writing the book? Explain how you know. You can be
your own person or do your own actions to have a girl still like you. This is because he dropped out
at the end and she still likes him.
What did the title have to do with the book? Vote was the of this book and it has to do with how
they voted for the election against Kevin and Cash.
Tell in your own words how the setting of the story made it more interesting. Be specific.
I think this was interesting because Kevin came out in the blue when nobody was Tina’s man
and swept her of her feet when Cash is more appealing or handsome I thought that was
intreasting.
If one of the characters visited our classroom, what question would you ask them? (Make sure
the question relates to the plot/problem/actions of the story.) *Give the name of the character
with the question!!*
Kevin-At what point did you think that you really wanted to run against Cash?
Pretend you are a librarian recommending the book to someone. Write a paragraph telling
what you would say. This book is filled with a lot of humor. This book contains a lot of action.
There are lessons in this book like, it doesn’t always turn out in the end like you would expect,
don’t change who you are to impress other people. There’s a lot of new words that you might
not know and could learn.
If they made a movie of this book, which scene would be most important to include.
Explain the scene with details and why it's important. I think the part we’re they went to
Aunt Buzzes and got there space for there political reasons. I think this scene is great
because it introduces a lot of characters.
