The problem in the story was that a dummy/ventriloquist puppet named Slappy was found
in a dumpster. A girl named Lindy finds Slappy. Her twin sister is Kris, she gets jealous of
her sister and begs her parents to buy her a dummy. Her dummy is called Mr. Wood. She
finds a little slip of paper in his suit pocket. It says magic words that brings the dummy to life
and now kris and Lindy are his slaves for life. But the to twin sisters destroy the dummy by
him getting ran over by a steamroller. They thought that all of the crazy nonsense was over,
but they were wrong because they forgot that Slappy was alive and the story continues.

how Mr. Wood was taken out. The scene would have Mr. Wood running away from Kris and Lindy
